Fierce Friday!!

SO every Friday I decided to do a FIERCE FRIDAY! This is where I’ll be posting shoes, clothing, accessories, etc.. that I believe to be a rather fierce MUST-have. For my first fierce Friday I’m showing these bad boys; Black platforms with guns in place heels!! Worn by Madonna to a screening of one of her movies. Anti-violence activists were actually offended by these shoes, but I think they are one badass pair of shoes for one badass babe!! They were apart of Karl Lagerfeld’s Chanel 2009 resort collection, so I won’t be able to purchase this exact same pair, but I found a pair kind of like them at Shiekh. 50th Anniversary of the Hollywood Walk of Fame

In 1960, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce created the Walk of Fame to “maintain the glory of a community whose name means glamour and excitement in the four corners of the world.” What wasn’t shared was that this was a genius way to make money.

Today, there are 2,400 stars along the 3.5 mile stretch honoring celebrities, fictional and real, from Mickey Mouse and Kermit the Frog to Madonna and Michael Jackson. Feel free to nominate your favorite artist, comedian, singer, song writer, etc. but know that being selection carries a $25,000 sponsorship fee and in order for a person to get a star on the Walk of Fame, he or she must agree to attend a presentation ceremony.

Honorees can receive a star for their contribution to film, television, recording, broadcast, or live theater.

The first eight stars were dedicated in September 1958, a few months prior to the official ground-breaking so that the entrance would be ready for the opening of the First Federal Savings and Loan of Hollywood building.

Some firsts:

• Actress Joanne Woodward was the first to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
• Gene Autry was the first to receive all five possible stars for his contribution in each of the five categories.
• Michael Jackson was the first to have two stars in the same category, as a solo artist an as a member of The Jackson Five.
• Strongheart was the first of three dogs to receive a star
• The 18-year old Olsen twins are the younger people to receive a star
• Mickey Mouse was the first cartoon charter to receive a star

Madonna At Haiti Concert Looks Tremendously Well PreservedNO

So I’m watching bits and pieces of the Haiti telethon, and was happy to see Madonna sing something in a low-key way. But there was nothing low about her face. It was as high and tight as it has ever been. I think she looks good… but is it me? Do her eyes look a little tight?

When I call my dermatoligist, it’s like a little prayer…

Now I’ll be the first to admit I would like a little somethin’ done about the area under the eyes of yours truly. So I’m not judgin’. Nor am I gonna post these suspicious before and after photos of her with bruises under her eyes, as seeming proof that she has had work done.  I’ll leave that to The Daily Mail, who can afford the photos.

But I WOULD like your opinion.

They were three small time girls, with big time dreams. Now, fate is giving the Pussycats, the chance of a lifetime.

I loved this movie, it was funny, smart, chick flick, entertaining and the pop music rocks!

The directing was great, editing good, acting excellent, singing fun, and the only goof balls were fiona and her little bad boy accomplice.

It reminded me of Mike Myers – Austin Powers goofiness.

I liked the story line, and it made me wonder, is it real?

Can you make teens buy whatever you want?

Is there subliminal messages in the music, who knows, this might be true.

Being the daughter of pop royalty/style icon Madonna, it’s no wonder that Lourdes Ciccone Leon is transforming into a stylish young girl.

Spotted at a premiere with her mother-both wearing lacey numbers from the D&G SS10- we couldn’t help but think “wow”. That soon turned to jealousy when we realised she’s only 13-years-old! She looks amazing.

I love painting and drawing Frida Kahlo.  I’m working on some very large images of Frida Kahlo with sock monkeys! I  love sock monkeys! Monkeys period! Frida is so often seen with monkeys in her own self portraits.

In Chinese astrology I’m a “Fire Monkey”…I definitely feel that I am! The past 3 months I started making sketches and watercolors of Frida with sock monkeys to prepare for a few larger pieces that are more realistic. I’m also working on a  painting with Frida as Alice In Wonderland and Diego by her side as Twiddle-Dee…he looks so much like Twiddle Dee to me! It makes me laugh. I have a cartoon of tthem I did way back  and I’ll post it as soon as I unpack it! Very funny!
